Boarding at Stuartholme – she will belong
Stuartholme is Brisbane’s only Catholic girls’ boarding school. Many of our boarders are from regional and international locations and their experiences offer richness and cultural diversity to our community.
Each boarder calls Stuartholme their home away from home, and together they form and share lifelong, special bonds where every boarder refers to each other as “friends and sisters”.
Boarding options
Stuartholme offers varied boarding options suited to families with different needs. Students can participate in full-time or weekly boarding. We also offer an Extended School Day option which assists busy day student families by providing each girl with breakfast, afternoon tea, supervised study and dinner.
Ideal location
Stuartholme’s unique location offers boarders many advantages. The School is ideally nestled on 21 hectares of native bushland in the foot-hills of Mount Coot-tha, and situated only six kilometres from Brisbane’s CBD. Stuartholme is close to everything yet provides the girls with a quiet, safe environment where they can live and learn.
The Boarding House
The Boarding House is centrally positioned over three floors in our Main Building, originally built in 1920, with accommodation that has a capacity for 160 students. Each boarder is provided an individual cubicle with study space and high speed wireless broadband.
Study
Boarders participate in two supervised study sessions each afternoon and evening. The first study session is held in the well-resourced Library which is managed by a teacher librarian and available until 8.30pm. For students wishing to study outside of these sessions, the School offers modern Information Services, with 24/7 access to high speed wireless broadband.
Activities
All boarders are able to enjoy and take advantage of the many academic, sporting, social and cultural opportunities offered by the School. At weekends, boarders can visit family and friends or remain in The Boarding House and participate in a structured program of activities.
