Burwood Heights Primary School is a vibrant school where learning and relationships are the centre of school life. Our vision is to educate the whole child. Our students are at the heart of everything we do. At Burwood Heights Primary School we offer programs from Kindergarten to Year 6 and have a dedicated staff that is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that teaching and learning is of the highest calibre. We deliver an innovative curriculum that promotes creativity, curiosity, tolerance and nurtures self-worth and self expression. The diversity of cultures provides a unique environment and opportunity for learning cultural respect and appreciation of differences. Our home/school partnership is based on trust, respect and support.
Burwood Heights Primary School respects and values each student as an individual and our students enjoy coming to school and feel connected to their peers and staff. Our Literacy program is based on multi-sensory learning, which connects speech to print, giving the best possible chance of success to all students. Our Life Skills classes — which incorporates the kitchen and Outdoor Learning Classroom — provide an environment and the opportunity for students to apply, and test their numerical, scientific and literacy understanding in a safe and rich ‘real world’ classroom. We aim to open each student's mind to the rich diversity of the world they are growing up in. We challenge them to explore and question everything they find with integrity, honesty, moral courage and compassion. Our diverse programmes ensure learning is transdisciplinary so that students are able make meaningful connections across learning areas, and that they become learners for life.
