Top VCE schools 2014

With the release of Victorian ATARs this week, it's time to reveal Victoria's top-performing schools for 2014. Mount Scopus Memorial College has come out first, boasting a median study score of 38 and an impressive 40.1 per cent of study scores over 40.

Joining Mount Scopus in the top 20 was a mixture of independent, Catholic and government schools.

VCE results are not only a measure of students' performance against their cohort; they can also help parents choose a secondary school by providing an indication of typical academic performance. One point to remember, however, is that academic strength is not the sole factor to consider when thinking about your child's individual needs. Schools have a range of charactersitics that you should take into account, such as extracurricular activities and breadth of curriculum.
