St Peters Lutheran College is a co-educational day and boarding school located in the Brisbane suburb of Indooroopilly. The college offers a comprehensive education experience for students from Prep to Year 12, with boarding available from Year 6. Since 1945, St Peters has provided excellence in Christian co-education and is one of the state’s leading independent schools.
The curriculum and opportunities available at St Peters are innovative and diverse. In the Primary Years (Prep - Year 6), students study the inquiry-based International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP). Their education is extended with a range of pastoral care activities, co- and extra-curricular sport and music options, unique physical development initiatives, and language and art studies. These opportunities continue as students continue through Junior High (Years 7 - 9) and into the Senior School (Years 10 - 12).
As they progress, students are introduced to further innovative initiatives, like the Robotics program; service learning, where students commit themselves to projects that are community-focused; the Duke of Edinburgh Award; and outdoor education, including the iconic five-week Ironbark experience in Year 9. In the Senior years, students can choose the pathway they wish to take — QCAA, International Baccalaureate or VET pathways.
St Peters strives to provide a high quality, holistic education. The emphasis on global understanding and international mindedness that stems from the International Baccalaureate’s PYP and Diploma Programme, extends into the college’s co- and extra-curricular options. St Peters proudly offers a world-class music and performing arts program, as well as a comprehensive sport program. The college is a member of the Associated Independent Colleges (AIC) competition for boys and the Queensland Girls Secondary Schools Sport Association (QGSSSA). The college’s motto, ‘Plus Ultra’ (Ever Higher) permeates all activities, with students encouraged to get involved and achieve their personal best.
St Peters students are encouraged to be lifelong and life-wide learners — to be critical and creative thinkers who can manage their own learning and be able to work collaboratively with others. All who attend St Peters are welcomed into a caring community. Students are supported, motivated and given every opportunity to flourish in our rapidly changing world.
