Meg Melville is well known to the college community. Having joined Penrhos as a teacher of Economics in 1979, Meg was appointed Head of Social Science in 1985; she went on to become Year 11 Coordinator in 2000, Head of Senior School in 2001 and sixth Principal in 2010.
“Penrhos College is committed to providing an education that honours our traditions and Christian values in a climate of change. Our students today think and operate differently to the students of years gone by. We must help them to develop strong coping mechanisms, transferable life skills and strategies which equip them to problem-solve capably.
Our girls are fortunate to have access to outstanding resources; our inspirational staff and range of academic, pastoral and co-curricular programs are designed to support each individual’s journey through our junior and secondary schools and beyond.
My hope and ambition is that each Penrhos student will understand and appreciate the significance of all she has learned during her time at the College, and that she will take this gift with her as she graduates from Year 12 and moves into adult life.”

Nikki is the winner of the 2019 Inspiring Student Award in the Australian Mathematics Trust Awards, in recognition of the inspiration and support she shows for her peers in the learning and enjoyment of Mathematics.
“I love learning maths because there is something magical about mastering a new concept, then subconsciously knowing how to solve problems with it. Maths is so unique from other subjects, even though it may seem like you work-by-yourself, nothing can beat the incredible feeling of achievement when you finally solve a problem with one of your friends.”
“Penrhos College is an amazing school. When I started in Year 7, I was really nervous, but I was met with so many encouraging teachers and friends that genuinely cared about me, making the transition so much easier. I enrolled in several co curricular activities and took on every opportunity thrown at me. Now in Year 11, looking back I realise what an amazing time I’ve had at the College, growing academically and building lasting friendships.”
