Learning is an adventure

Learning is an adventure at Guildford Grammar School. For students in pre-Kindergarten to Year 6, Guildford Grammar Preparatory School maximises every child’s learning opportunities and fosters an incredible childhood experience. These are pivotal years within a child’s education. Our academic program nurtures natural curiosity and encourages children to become independent thinkers, who never stop asking questions. It is a period of exploration, full of wonder and awe where they will discover who they are and how the world works. A positive experience in the early schooling years can establish the framework for future success in the classroom.

Our supportive environment ensures each child is known and valued, while our program provides an engaging and challenging curriculum to meet each child’s learning needs, inspiring an appetite for lifelong learning. Students in the primary years explore the core foundations of learning, developing the crucial skills of numeracy and literacy. Young learners also begin to discover their own personal excellence through a comprehensive co-curricular program that includes art, music, sport, debating, technology and importantly, play.

Leading the journey are our team of passionate and dynamic educators, committed to supporting student exploration and imagination. Our creative and innovative learning environment is a place where children discover their creativity, wonder and joy. With an academic program intentionally modelled on the developmental stages of children, we make learning relevant to individual students needs and interests, because learning should be an exciting journey of discovery.

Pre-Kindergarten - Year 2

In our Little Explorers (three-year-old pre-Kindergarten program), our youngest students get ready for the adventure of learning. Moving into our Early Learning Centre, our eager learners embark on a quest to discover their place in the world, at their own pace. Commencing in pre-Kindergarten at the ELC, students are nurtured through the transition to full-time school in pre-Primary. In Year 1 and 2, we continue to harness their natural curiosity for the world around them, fostering a sense of exploration and discovery, integrated with a core focus on developing strong fundamental literacy and numeracy skills.

Year 3-6

Ready to go, our Year 3 and 4 students take greater responsibility for their personal learning journey, supported to become independent thinkers through inquiry-based learning and meaningful experiences beyond the classroom.

Year 5 and 6 students look ahead, as they near the peak of their primary school venture, well equipped at applying critical and creative thinking and problem-solving skills to real-life learning scenarios.

Our school is situated within unrivalled surroundings close to the Swan River, as well as wetland and bushland areas. Connection to land and country and time spent in nature is highly valued within the learning journey. All classes spend time in the outdoor environment exploring our campus and embracing the unique and rich learning opportunities provided within his inspirational environment.
