Early Learning

The early years of schooling are an integral and fundamental part of a child’s education. Research tells us that positive early learning experiences help shape brain development and set the foundation for success in later learning, behaviour and health.

The TAS Early Learning Centre’s program follows the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and includes an inquiry-based approach that is balanced through formal and informal learning activities.

TAS encourages strong family and school relationships. We work in partnership with our parents and carers to ensure we are providing the best educational opportunities for each child. By working together, we can help them to establish a love of learning.

We hope your family will enjoy being part of the TAS community and we look forward to being able to assist your child in reaching their own unique potential.

Junior School

In the Junior School, we see the building of strong relationships as vital. The relationships between students, staff, parents and the community are all highly valued. Through these strong relationships and with effective communication we get to know and understand your child. In this way, we are able to cater to the individual needs of each child. We focus on each individual, with our goal being the development of the whole child.

The Junior School offers pastoral care, exceptional teachers, engagement with our community, co-curricular activities and a disciplined, nurturing learning environment. In every aspect, we strive to develop in each student the pursuit of academic excellence, self-confidence, community service and leadership.

Senior School

The TAS Academic Program addresses the needs of students who will continue to live their lives in the 21st Century. The interconnectedness of the global networks require a special skill set.

TAS nurtures and grows the capabilities that students need to give them an edge in what will be a dynamic and challenging future environment. This approach fosters an innovative spirit and entrepreneurial capacity which prepares students for the future world and employment landscape.

Passionate, committed and caring teachers create paths for students as global citizens in the future. Such paths are not found, they are made.

The Academic Program emphasises the capabilities for global citizens:

  • Ways of Thinking– critical thinking and problem solving, creativity, curiosity, imagination, how to learn
  • Ways of Working– communication and collaboration, adaptability, leadership, initiative, entrepreneurship
  • Tools for Working– analysing information, digital literacies, programs and coding
  • Living in the World– personal well-being and social capability, intercultural and ethical understanding
