Known as the hidden gem on Treasure Road, St Norbert College is a vibrant community with a rich history in providing a Catholic education in the Norbertine tradition.
The co-educational secondary college in Queens Park — 12km from the Perth CBD — offers a broad range of educational experiences in academia, vocational training, sport and the arts, and ranks in the top 10 WA Catholic schools for ATAR results.
As well as music, drama, dance and languages (Japanese and Italian), the college teaches life skills through textiles, food, wood, metal and design technology electives, and its specialised basketball program offers chosen students a pathway to professional sport.
The college has a dedicated careers education centre to help students with work placement and subject choice, and every student who belongs to the St Norbert community is provided with a safe and nurturing learning environment based on the college values of Respect, Heritage, Community, Friendship, Adaptability and Commitment.
A strong sense of community exists for both students and staff, who engage in Christian learning and community and charity service including immersions to the state’s far north.
Year 7 students are encouraged to try everything the college has to offer, with senior students individually guided towards academic and vocational programs to suit their aptitude, interest and choice of vocation.
St Norbert College principal Simon Harvey, a college alumnus, leads a teaching and support staff of 100 professionals who offer excellent educational opportunities and pastoral care to the college’s 900 students. The college is the only Norbertine-owned and operated school in Australia with a religious order on site. Residing in the original Priory on campus is one of the founding fathers of the college who set up the school in 1965 on arrival from Ireland.
In 2021, St Norbert College celebrates the 900-year anniversary of the founding of the Norbertines in France. While based on rich tradition and foundation, St Norbert College is innovative and respected for the academic, vocational, sporting and artistic opportunities it provides, along with its dedication to student wellbeing. The college motto is ‘Prepared For All Good Works’.
