St Andrew's Cathedral School

St Andrew's Cathedral School

Sydney NSW

Message from the Principal

‘St Andrew’s Cathedral School is a learning community that has all the attributes that you would expect from a leading independent, co-educational school: top class academic results; a broad, challenging, well-crafted curriculum; a world-class music program; a wide sport and co-curricular offering, including a uniquely exciting outdoor education program; exceptionally well-qualified teaching staff; well-equipped facilities. Yet, to only say those things wouldn’t give you true insight into what St Andrew’s Cathedral School is, or how your child (and your family) would be shaped by joining us. We are a community that passionately believes that your child matters. That is its starting point. They don’t matter (only) if or when they win a prize, or when they make the school look good. They matter.

‘One Year 12 student recently said, “St Andrew’s is a unique school because just about everything about it is unique.” He’s right. Come and see for yourself.’.

‘Over the last four years, I’ve taken ownership of my education. It has given me a real sense of independence, autonomy and power, which comes from knowing I can teach myself. St Andrew’s Cathedral School has done that for me. The fact that my teachers were so willing to listen to my ideas and run with what I’m saying — it’s the pinnacle of self-directed learning.’

‘Going to SACS (St Andrew’s Cathedral School) and doing the IB MYP and Diploma have helped me become more of a global citizen. Participating in the school’s StartUp program has made me more excited about entrepreneurship. Also, the school’s rich computer science offering (even in Years 8–10) has also enhanced my ability to learn more about and excel in the field that I am interested in. My favourite memory of school was our Year 9 Snow!”
