St Andrew’s Cathedral School is a coeducational, Kindergarten to Year 12 school that is distinctive in many areas. It is the quintessential city school in Australia, located in two high-rise buildings in the centre of Sydney’s CBD. Our school seeks to enrich its curriculum with city experiences, which are all on our doorstep. We ensure our students are given every opportunity to excel academically, socially and in co-curricular activities. We are proudly known as a highly inclusive pastoral school, which aims at academic excellence, and has outstanding programs in music, drama and outdoor education.
The academic performance of our Year 12 graduates is consistently impressive, with our Senior College students able to choose the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC) as their exit credential.

The 2020 Year 12 cohort achieved historic highs in both the HSC and IB Diploma. The average of the top 10% of HSC students achieved an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank) of 96.76. In the IB Diploma, the average ATAR of the top 10% of students was an incredible 99.49 and of the top 50% of our IB students was 97.3. Another milestone was that 93% of the cohort were offered their first preference course at their first-choice university for 2021. Pastoral care and character development
At St Andrew’s Cathedral School, our primary focus is to see students develop the character strengths that will see them thrive at school and beyond. This character development is delivered in pastoral care tutor groups and in classes as part of a structured wellbeing program. Our Christian approach to wellbeing ensures every student is known and valued and our caring staff ensure every student is supported to achieve personal bests in all fields of endeavour — from the classroom to the stage and the playing field.
If your child wants to be part of a school where they are encouraged and supported to achieve beyond their own expectations, book a tour and find out how the right education can prepare them for life.
