SEDA College - Glebe and Olympic Park Campuses

Glebe NSW, Sydney City Central & Eastern Suburbs

SEDA College is an independent senior high school where students complete the Higher School Certificate (HSC) program. We aim to bring out the best in our students by taking a unique approach to Year 11 and 12 schooling, thanks to our relationship with some of NSW’s leading sporting organisations. Our sporting partners include:

  • AFL NSW
  • Cricket NSW
  • Netball NSW
  • Parramatta Eels (NRL)
  • Rabbitohs (NRL)
  • Sydney Kings Basketball
  • Sydney FC (soccer)
  • Western Sydney 2 Blues (Rugby Union)
  • Western Sydney Wanderers (soccer)

Students are involved in industry experiences they will not find anywhere else. They learn in real workplaces and directly from sport industry experts, and are equipped with transferable skills that will help them to be successful outside of school.

Our ‘one teacher, one class’ approach allows our teachers to take on a true mentoring role, where they get the time to know each student and their individual aspirations.

When challenges like remote learning come our way, our students are ready.

Our students work online even when we are onsite and in the classroom. This means that a disruption to face-to-face learning has minimal impact on our productivity.

We bring out the best in our students by focusing on their passion. This doesn’t stop when we switch to learning remotely. Our teachers are still running group work, teaching practical skills and engaging our students with creative online learning challenges.

In 2020, despite the pandemic 100% of our students completed the HSC and earned VET qualifications. Seven students were in the NSW HSC Distinguished Achievers List and one topped NSW in Standard Maths. Fast forward to March 2021, and 97% of our 2020 graduates are employed, studying or playing sport professionally.

Despite our great academic results, we believe that alongside academic learning, students need to gain real-life skills that equip them to succeed in work, study and life after year 12. We deliberately do not offer an ATAR program as we want to move away from the high stress and narrow focus of traditional schooling. Our graduates are balanced, active, healthy, mentally and physically resilient, and ready for life after graduation.
