St Stephen's School

Duncraig WA

St Stephen’s is a Christ-centred, student-focused and community-based school. Founded on a vision to nurture, we aim to inspire learning that transforms lives.

St Stephen’s School is a young and progressive co-educational school of the Uniting Church in Australia. We have a reputation for excellence in teaching and a commitment to developing well-rounded people – people of innovation, creativity, integrity and faith.

The school has two campuses, welcoming its first students in 1984. The Duncraig campus was first established – housing a primary school for Years 3 to 6 and a secondary school for Years 7 to 12. In 2011, an Early Learning Centre for pre-kindergarten to Year 2 opened in Padbury, across the road, its proximity and access sees it considered part of the Duncraig campus.

The Carramar campus was opened in 2001 on St Stephen’s Crescent, off Joondalup Drive. It houses a primary school for pre-kindergarten to Year 6, and a secondary school for Years 7 to 12.

Each campus has a range of facilities including contemporary libraries, digital learning hubs, gymnasiums, a theatre, dance and art studios, music rooms, sporting grounds, nature play spaces, chill-out zones and more, creating a home away from home.

The school also owns a rural property in Dwellingup known as The Kaadadjan Centre, which translates to The Knowledge Centre in the local Noongar language. It is a natural retreat for staff and students to learn from, reflect at and for the school community to enjoy. Spanning 115 acres, it is bound by the Murray River, Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Trail.

St Stephen’s School’s mission to 'Serve God, Serve One Another’ is underpinned by five key values: faith, learning, service, care and community. We welcome all who share these values, from all faiths and backgrounds.

The school is a solid academic performer, yet the traits St Stephen’s School students learn such as teamwork, humility, leadership and compassion go beyond the classroom.

Our Service Learning programs see students better the lives of others on a local, national and international scale, taking them to various locations including India, Cambodia, Malaysia, South Africa and, closer to home, the Kimberley region of WA to learn about different ways of life and enrich the lives of those we meet.

St Stephen’s fosters education that is flexible, personalised and engaging. Students are connected via an intricate digital ICT structure that promotes learning anywhere, anytime. The school promotes a Many2One program, where students in Years 5–12 can choose which device best facilitates their learning.

A personalised approach to teaching and learning, with subject specialist teachers from primary to secondary, helps students find their niche and identify the best pathway to reach their goals.
