Ravenswood is a Kindergarten to Year 12 School which aims to equip and inspire girls to participate in and contribute to our evolving global society. Established in 1901, we are one of Australia’s leading independent girls’ schools, offering a broad-based curriculum with a strong academic focus.
We offer our students a unique combination: quality teaching and outstanding academic results; learning to develop imaginative and critical thinkers, who engage with, explore and apply their learning and have a sense of their local community and their place in a globalised world.
As an open-entry school, we accept girls of all talents and abilities, faiths and cultures. With innovative teaching and small classes, we are consistently ranked among the top schools in NSW. Our students are regularly awarded university scholarships and accepted into a broad range of courses from biomedicine and engineering to law, commerce, industrial design and music. At Ravenswood, our aim is to develop compassionate, connected, articulate young women who have the confidence to succeed no matter where their journey takes them.
We are a Uniting Church school accepting students of all faiths. As a community we are concerned with the spiritual as well as the personal and academic development of our students. Academic programs are enhanced with a broad range of extracurricular and co-curricular programmes underpinned with extensive pastoral care to ensure each girl is individually known and cared for. The school’s Guiding Principles of Respect, Excellence, Courage and Compassion provide the framework that guides our day-to-day behaviours as a school community.
Ravenswood is currently the only school on Sydney’s Upper North Shore to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. As an IB World School, we are often benchmarked against some of the best schools in the world. Our curriculum challenges and inspires our students to learn, lead and live with an international focus.
The Senior Residential College at Ravenswood is located a few minutes’ walk from the school. Girls from the local area, rural NSW and overseas form new friendships in the Senior Residential College which provides state-of-the-art technology, contemporary design and creates a welcoming, boutique boarding experience for students in Years 10, 11 and 12.
