At Lauriston Girls’ School, we teach girls to be intrepid, ask questions and 'give everything a go'. We work collaboratively with parents, students, staff and education leaders to ensure that we provide students with choice, guidance and solid outcomes to secure bright and exciting futures.
Students begin their Lauriston journey with a curriculum that focuses on literacy and numeracy as well as specialist and enrichment programs, including the study of Mandarin. From Prep, students also enjoy access to Lauriston’s differentiated learning program which ensures each student progresses at a rate best for her.
As students progress to the higher levels of Junior School they are encouraged to view the world from a broader perspective. Lauriston’s Year 3–6 girls investigate cultures beyond their own and develop the ability to understand issues from different viewpoints.
All students in the Junior School are given the chance to take on a leadership role; in Year 2, this might be leading assemblies or mentoring other students. In Year 6, every girl is part of a leadership group and takes an active role in the school. From guiding prospective families on school tours to organising morning sports and activities, each girl has an impact to make.

Year Level: Year 12
Favourite Subject: Maths and Economics
Daisy Chu joined Lauriston Girls’ School in Year 10 and has been a bright student and active member of the community. Now in Year 12, Daisy is proud to represent the school as one of this year’s International Student Captains.
“Lauriston is an inclusive and open school that encourage students to participate and engage in different activities,” says Daisy. “It provides a great range of choice for students to explore their interests and study how they choose: either the International Baccalaureate (IB) or the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE).”
Daisy has taken part in many of Lauriston’s co-curricular activities, including music and sport. “It is amazing as you will have chance to try something new and find out that it might be totally different to what you thought it should be like. Teachers give suggestions and help to students and they really encourage everyone to step forward and give it a go.”
